COTS Waystation is a 36-bed shelter for men and women, ages 18 and older located in Burlington. The Waystation operates 7 nights a week from 5pm to 8am, 365 days a year.
The primary responsibilities of Shelter Staff are to assure the safety and well-being of persons and property in the Shelter; to sign in and orient residents to shelter life; and to enforce the applicable rules and policies. Shelter Staff maintain a safe and supportive environment while building trusting relationships with individuals experiencing homelessness.
Qualified candidates must be able to work overnights and weekends. The part time schedule will be determined upon hire.
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field, or commensurate experience working with the homeless population required. Strong communication, crisis management, and problem solving skills and a commitment to COTS mission required.
