The Clarina Howard Nichols Center cultivates safe communities, places and relationships so that all may thrive. Clarina works to end domestic and sexual violence in Lamoille County. Clarina provides shelter, support and direct services to victims and survivors as well as outreach education programs and supervised visitation. We work to affect social change within our communities through increased public awareness. A violence free tomorrow is our vision today.

Qualifications and position specific tasks:

This position is 20 hours per week with collaborative aspect with Emergency Housing Liaison. Clarina provides pro-rated paid leave and a flexible supportive work environment. This position is part of the advocacy team which includes crisis hotline support and requires on call commitments. This position is supervised by the Director of Advocacy.

The Evening Emergency Housing Liaison serves survivors and their families who are in need of temporary shelter. While priority is given to individuals and families in shelter, the day to day operations of the facility are also a shared responsibility. Knowledge of area resources for both survivors and maintenance of the physical space preferred. The Evening Emergency Housing Liaison provides advocacy as well as supports volunteers and staff advocates working in shelter to help shelter guests meet short and long term outcomes.
After survivors themselves, volunteers are Clarina’s most important asset. The Emergency Housing Liaison supports volunteers and interns working in shelter; working with other staff to ensuring that volunteers receive orientation, training, supervision and meaningful service opportunities. This position will provide primary support for shelter based volunteers and donor relations as related to shelter.

Crisis Worker Certification                                         Microsoft Office aptitude

Foster & Maintain quality relationships                  Commitment to non-violence
Bachelor’s Degree in Related field or commensurate professional experience.
